I know you might be reading this thread hoping that you can start off with any pokemon, or that you aren't limited to starting off with the generic starter pokemon. Well fear not, because it's neither of the two. Here, you will go through what is known as the Oak Roulette. We take a list of pokemon and put them through a randomization generator and click it one time only. We will then take the top three pokemon on that list and show them to you via opening some pokeballs and you will then be given the choice to choose from one of them. Do not gripe and complain if you get what you consider to be the worst three pokemon in the entire series, because you never know if they may end up helping you get the best pokemon ever.
Firstly, the list of pokemon will only ever contain the first level for a pokemon, even if it's considered a baby pokemon. So you will never start off with a pikachu, only a Pichu if it happens to land on one. Secondly, legendaries will also never be put into this roulette, nor will any Ditto or any type of fossil based pokemon, this is final. Lastly, in the list a single "SHINY" spot will be put into it and will be randomized along with all the other pokemon. If the "SHINY" spot happens to land on the very top of the list, then the three pokemon you get to choose from will have the option of being shiny. Other than that, you will never start off with a shiny pokemon, don't whine or complain about it.
