Square feet: Approximately 1750.
Building height: Approximately three stories.
Exterior: The gym stands in the center of a barren lot, unchanged by Roxanne's absence. The gym itself, however has experienced quite the change. Instead of the mountain-like exterior it had once had, the gym is now in the shape of a dome, the color being a darker, yellowish hue. At the peak of the dome, an antenna stands, the tip in the shape of a lightning bolt, the element-type of the gym leader. There are six windows on the dome, all aligned symmetrically with each other, to let light into the gym. The doors leading into the gym are in the shape of an equilateral triangle, each half being a right triangle. Above the doors is a large sign reading, "Rustboro Gym". Settled on the sides of the dome are three poles, standing at a forty-five degree angle due to the curved form of the building. At the top of each said pole is a ball that emits tesla energy, each tesla ball's electricity arcing to the previously mentioned antenna at the peak of the dome.
Interior: The interior wall of the gym is painted a dark hue of orange, with a black stripe approximately one foot wide running through it five feet off the ground. In the center of the gym is the battlefield, painted a lighter yellow with white similar to a tennis court, except there is a pokeball painted in the center of the two halves.
On each corner of the rectangular battlefield, there is a wide, metal pole with a tesla ball on top, similar to the ones outside, but smaller. The four tesla balls together make an electric roof to the battlefield. On each end of the rectangle is a lightning bolt-shaped platform, raising about half a foot off of the ground. This is where the challenger, and the leader, stand as they battle and once stepped upon, the platform lights up. If one leaves the platform, it will dim, and they will immediately forfeit the challenge. Under the two platforms, and the battlefield, are many Magnemite and Magneton. Once a challenge is started, and the trainers are on their platforms, an electromagnet activates, the polarity of the magnet and the pokemon being the same, causing the magnet pokemon to raise, raising the platforms. When there are no battles, the pokemon are allowed to roam freely throughout the gym, feeding on the energy the tesla balls emit.
On the second floor of the gym, there is an electric-type pokemon sanctuary, where wild injured electric-types rest. Pokemon, common and rare, enjoy the sanctuary's tesla reactors, seeing as many electric-types are ergovores. There are six tesla reactors on the second floor, allowing pokemon easy nutrition. As to the variety of rarity the Rustboro Gym has seen, pokemon from Pichu to Electabuzz have been seen on the second floor. It has been rumored that Zapdos and Raikou, two electric legendary pokemon, appear there regularly.
*Note: Capturing pokemon in the Rustboro Gym Sanctuary is a felony, and will result in a very harsh punishment. *[/i]
Outside of the door to the sanctuary, there is a sign that reads, "Those who enter are at risk for electric shock. Please take a pair of rubber gloves." Although it is not necessary to wear the gloves, it is recommended, as the pokemon in the sanctuary are WILD, and will attack if they feel threatened.
